REFLECTION OF A WRITER - 100 Stories and Counting

(100)

Words can bring comfort or pain. Words can encourage someone to keep going or destroy someone's spirit. Words are stronger than all the weapons combined. For that, I am thankful for the ability to convey my messages through spoken and written words to create hope, optimism, healing, and harmony.

Today, October 7th, marks my 100th story/journal created in 2023 alone, totaling about 30 thousand words. When I set out to write the first word on this New Year, I told myself it was time to write more consistently. So, I wrote the number one under the title, and just like that, I kept adding numbers. A writer writes. Without this outlet, I felt my life was unfulfilled.

My words may have encouraged someone in hopeless situations, healed broken hearts, or occasionally offended someone unintentionally, for which I apologize for not being clear with my messages. My sole intention as a writer is to reflect on my journey and share my experiences and wisdom.

What will I do next after reaching this milestone of 100 stories? I will continue writing for as long as I am alive. I will share stories of homeless people to raise awareness about homelessness. I will write stories about orphans who yearn to have someone to call their family. I will write about elderly individuals who are forgotten by their loved ones. I will write about mental illness which will raise awareness for mental health and hope to lessen taboos. I will write whenever my heart tells me it’s worth sharing. ✍️

I didn't choose to be a writer; I was chosen. Having this calling is a privilege and a great blessing from Heaven. I will never lower my pen but will hold it upright to shed some light in the darkness.

Thank You, God, for entrusting me with this pen. I know I was hurt and blamed You for giving me too much to handle. But You knew what You were doing. You only gave me enough for me to learn and experience human suffering. I am thankful for Your love and grace. ♥️
